Gapuma Group has been appointed by Chevron Products Company, a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., as the official distributor of Chevron base oils in Nigeria. This agreement enables Gapuma to introduce Chevron’s Group II/ II+ base oils to local formulators, providing supply reliability and supporting the industry’s transition to more advanced, efficient lubricants.

With this agreement, Gapuma strengthens its role as a bridge between global producers and African markets while helping customers optimize formulations and reduce complexity in an evolving regulatory landscape. This partnership is more than a distribution agreement to Gapuma; it’s a shared commitment to innovation, efficiency, and the future of the lubricants industry in West Africa.

“Gapuma’s breadth of service, in regional support structure, and commitment to operational excellence make them an ideal distributor for us in meeting the needs of Nigerian lubricant marketers,” said Alicia Logan, General Manager of Chevron Base Oils. “They understand the market’s needs, and, with our base oils in tank, they can help customers optimize formulations, while shortening their supply chain. With regular, reliable delivery, customers can minimize their base oil inventory while blending higher-performing lubricants.”

“We are very excited to represent Chevron premium base oils. We can offer lubricant marketers the opportunity to upgrade their current portfolio of lubricant products,” said Jack Bardakjian, Group Managing Director, Gapuma. “We are committed to working with customers to help them understand the benefits of adding Group II to their supply chain and how to optimize formulating strategies as they transition through the maze of changing specifications.”

“Chevron’s extensive qualifications portfolio, coupled with Gapuma’s in-region technical support, can help formulators seamlessly integrate Group II base oils into their supply chain,” added Stephen Harris, Operations Director, Gapuma.

This is Chevron’s third supply hub in Africa and its twentieth globally. With five manufacturing facilities producing base oils with the same performance properties, Chevron’s global slate enhances supply reliability around the world.. .
