Glide to manufacture PETRONAS transformer oil

PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) and Glide Technology Sdn Bhd (GLIDE) have inked a collaboration agreement. Under the agreement, these two lubricant providers will distribute premium insulating oils for transformers under PETRONAS Tranol Glide.

Glide is a Malaysian lubricant supplier to utility companies and transformer manufacturers. In this partnership with PLI, GLIDE will be manufacturing PETRONAS Tranol Glide at its facilities for distribution in the country.

Khalil Muri, Managing Director and Group CEO of PLI, shared: “PETRONAS Lubricants International’s proven expertise and capabilities in delivering high-quality industrial solutions and products enable us to support Malaysia’s industrial sector, which continues to see an upward trajectory over the decades. The PETRONAS Tranol Glide range is designed to maintain and enhance power systems’ performance, which is critical to future industrial growth.”

Speaking about the partnership, Dato’ Hj. Muhazli Bin Hj. Muhamad, President of the Glide Group of Companies, said: “This partnership agreement with PETRONAS Lubricants International marks a pivotal chapter in GLIDE’s growth and transformation journey. It validates our present market and technical capability, deepens our role in the national energy ecosystem, and reinforces our commitment to supporting Malaysia’s industrial development with world-quality, locally produced insulating oil solutions.”

Insulating oils are crucial in the operation of transformers, which form the core of power substations. The PETRONAS Tranol Glide Uninhibited and Inhibited insulating oils are tailored to meet international standards.
