Gapuma and Chevron Oronite hold a lubes seminar in Nigeria

Gapuma Group’s GLB division, GLB Chemical Services Limited (GLB), the Nigerian distribution arm of the Gapuma Group and Chevron Oronite, recently hosted a technical seminar, with an aim of strengthening industry knowledge and fostering innovation in lubricant additives and oil technology. This event brought together key professionals in Nigeria’s lubricants market.

Participants included representatives from 21 companies active in this sector. Some of the organisations represented were Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC), TotalEnergies, Ammasco, Delta Lubricants, Ardova, and BESTAF, among others. The seminar provided a platform for Chevron Oronite’s experts to share insights into the latest advancements in lubricant additive technologies. Topics discussed included:

• Power transmission fluids and automatic gear oils.

• Passenger car motor oil and hydraulic oils.

• Motorcycle oils and tractor hydraulic fluids.

• Automatic transmission fluid.

• The importance of quality viscosity index improvers. Through a combination of presentations, Q&A sessions, and case studies, the event facilitated insightful exchanges among the attendees. Gapuma, has been the official distributor of Chevron Oronite products in Nigeria since 2020, and it played a key role in organizing the seminar, emphasizing the growing importance of technical knowledge-sharing in advancing Nigeria’s lubricants industry and strengthening strategic partnerships within the sector.

Chevron Oronite in partnership with Azelis Kenya, its official distributor in East Africa, conducted a similar event for the East African Lubricants market in Nairobi in March 2024..
