FUCHS Lubricants (UK) plc has announced an investment in a new quality control (QC) laboratory at its Stoke-on-Trent manufacturing facility, marking another step in the expansion and modernisation of its UK operations. The project follows recent upgrades to the site’s blending and filling infrastructure and is intended to strengthen manufacturing capability, improve operational agility and support future growth.
Located at the centre of the Hanley manufacturing site alongside the blending and filling operations, the new laboratory provides FUCHS UK with enhanced analytical capabilities to meet the changing demands of lubricant production.
David Simpson, Quality Control Manager at FUCHS UK, said increasing lubricant complexity, tighter OEM specifications, extreme operating requirements and evolving regulations have made advanced, data-driven quality assurance essential. The new laboratory is equipped with modern analytical technologies designed to deliver faster, more precise and reliable testing across a broad range of parameters.
Beyond maintaining consistent product quality, the facility will support formulation development, technical innovation and regulatory compliance. Its larger footprint also allows FUCHS UK to consolidate laboratory activities into a single purpose-built facility, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.
The new layout also strengthens health and safety by reducing lone working and supporting the company’s 24-hour QC operation through a more integrated team environment.
FUCHS Lubricants (UK) CEO Richard Rogers said the investment goes beyond a new laboratory, describing it as an effort to build the capabilities required for the future. He added that the facility will help FUCHS deliver consistent quality, accelerate innovation and respond more quickly to changing customer needs, while reinforcing its commitment to manufacturing excellence. .
