Castrol, in partnership with Renault Group After-Sales, has introduced the new co-branded Renault Castrol GTX range, formulated with Re-Refined Base Oils (RRBO). Launching with RN17 (5W-30), now available across the European dealer network, the product addresses over 50% of Renault vehicles currently in use in Europe.
Following the earlier RN700 and RN710, and with RN720 and AN2022 planned for 2026, Renault will offer a full suite of premium engine oils across its model lineup, all incorporating RRBO. These oils are estimated to reduce the carbon footprint by 13–24%, reflecting Renault Group’s commitment to a more circular automotive industry.

The initiative also promotes used oil recycling, minimizes waste, reduces crude oil use, and supports lower Scope 3 emissions.
“This launch makes Renault Group the first OEM to provide its entire recent vehicle range with next-generation lubricants formulated with re-refined base oil. It demonstrates that sustainability and uncompromising performance can coexist across a vehicle’s lifecycle,” said François Delion, Vice President Global After-Sales at Renault Group.
“By co-engineering these products, we help Renault meet customer needs today and tomorrow with high-performance, lower-carbon, more circular lubricants,” added Slawek Radon, Vice President Business Development & Partnerships at Castrol. .
