LUBES DIARY: UNITI Mineral OilTechnology Forum 2026. | FAQS: Why has the industry shifted from single additives to additive packages?

Chevron Oronite has expanded its partnership with Azelis South Africa through local manufacturing of the PARATONE 24EX viscosity modifier, strengthening supply continuity, reducing delivery times and supporting improved additive formulation capabilities in the region. The high ethylene content of PARATONE 24EX enables efficient thickening and strong shear stability, resulting in durable, reliable lubricant solutions.

“We are proud to take this significant step forward with Azelis South Africa,” said Patrice Estoueig – Area Sales Manager, Chevron Oronite. “Local manufacturing of PARATONE® 24EX reinforces our long-term commitment to local capability building and resilient growth in Africa.”

Chevron Oronite is a supplier of Viscosity Modifiers (VM) under the brand name PARATONE. The Paratone Olefin Copolymers (OCP) provide the benefits of high-ethylene products, such as high thickening efficiency as well as deliver low-temperature properties and the shear-stability needed for the demanding specifications.
