UEIL and ATIEL launches Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Tool

T he ATIEL & UEIL Joint Sustainability Committee has launched the PCF Calculation Tool, an easy to use Excel-based calculator, designed to harmonize and streamline the calculation of PCF for lubricants. This tool adheres to the third-party certified Methodology for Product Carbon Footprint Calculations for Lubricants, Greases, and Other Specialties. It empowers lubricant manufacturers and stakeholders with a user-friendly interface for calculating PCFs.

Key features include:

• How-to-Use Guidance: Detailed instructions for a seamless experience.

• Input Tabs: Capture raw material and manufacturing emissions.

• Output Tab: Generate transparent PCF results.

The tool was developed to address the growing need for harmonization and transparency in PCF calculations within the industry, enabling:

• Transparency: Allows users to apply the third-party certified methodology.

• Consistency: Ensures that PCF calculations can meet regulatory requirements, are compatible with other industry standards and can support consistent management for reducing carbon footprint.

• Market Advantage: Enhance market position by demonstrating commitment to sustainability

• Accessibility: Available to all lubricant industry stakeholders worldwide, this tool represents a significant step toward achieving alignment and transparency in PCF reporting. .
