African Group Lubricants(AGL) acquires ablending facility

T he South African based oil marketing company African Group Lubricants (AGL), has acquired CERA blending facility, after securing a long-term distributorship commitment with ExxonMobil and Quaker Houghton.

AGL is the authorized distributor of Mobil Lubricants in South Africa as well as Quaker Houghton’s industrial process fluids to the primary metals and metalworking markets.

With the new acquisition, AGL will now offer toll-blending and warehouse facilities. Currently, AGL offers lubricant solutions to industries ranging from transportation to industrial, renewable energy, steel, among others. Apart from being awarded the rights to manufacture automotive lubricants in South Africa by ExxonMobil, AGL has also been granted local blending rights on certain product ranges for the mining, construction, and agricultural sectors where it will be expanding into.

“AGL’s vision is to keep expanding our locally manufactured product portfolio and offer competitive solutions to our customers in South Africa and surrounding countries,” said Mark Kerwan, AGL Managing Director.

Apart from ExxonMobil and Quaker Houghton, AGL is also the authorized distributor of filtration products from Eclipse Magnetics, a UK based company. AGL has also its private label Centlube which has products such as coolants, antifreeze, engine cleaner, and brake fluid.

AGL plans to further expand its footprint in the Southern African market in the coming years.

AGL is a subsidiary of enX Group Ltd. enX is an industrial group comprised of three segments, enX Fleet, enX Equipment and enX Petrochemicals. The Petrochemicals segment deals with lubricants and different specialty chemicals. .
